1.Preparation and inoculation: Prepare the manure for fermentation, preferably fresh pig manure (as fresh manure has a better fermentation effect than aged manure). For example, about 1 ton of fresh pig manure is mixed with 0.25 kilograms of pig manure fermentation agent. The pig manure fermentation agent should be mixed evenly with rice bran (or corn flour, wheat bran) at a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 for later use.

2. Pile construction with pig manure: Spread the prepared pig manure while adding bacteria to build a pile. The height and volume of the pile should not be too low or too small. Requirements: The pile should be 1.5-2 meters high, 2 meters wide, and of unlimited length

3. Adjust moisture content. The moisture content of fermented pig manure should be controlled between 40% and 65%. To judge the moisture content, grasp a handful of pig manure tightly with your hand. It is appropriate if water marks are visible between your fingers but do not drip, and the manure falls apart immediately upon landing. Too little water slows down fermentation, while too much water leads to poor aeration and can cause "putrefactive bacteria" to work, producing an unpleasant odor. Therefore, it is important to control the moisture content well.

4. Starting temperature. The starting temperature should preferably be above 15℃ (it can be operated all year round, without being affected by seasons, and fermentation should be carried out indoors or in greenhouses as much as possible in winter). The fermentation temperature should be controlled below 70-75℃.

5. Mix evenly and ensure proper aeration. Pig manure fermentation agent requires oxygen-consuming fermentation. Therefore, during the operation process, it is advisable to strengthen oxygen supply measures, ensuring even mixing, frequent turning, and proper aeration. Otherwise, anaerobic fermentation may occur, resulting in an unpleasant odor and affecting the fertilizer effect.

6. Fermentation is complete. Generally, after 48 hours of pig manure accumulation, the temperature rises to 50-60℃, and can reach above 65℃ on the third day. At this high temperature, it is necessary to turn the material over once. Under normal circumstances, there will be two high temperatures above 65℃ during the fermentation process, and turning over twice can complete the fermentation. The fermentation process can be completed within a week. When the material turns black-brown and the temperature begins to drop to room temperature, it indicates that fermentation is complete.
